Guests can easily start a tab by scanning a QR Code or tapping an NFC reader that we provide your venue. While we do have an app, we do not require an app download and allow guests to start tabs through App Clips - a lightweight version of an app built directly within Apple Pay / Google Pay.

Option 1: App Clip

  1. Guest scans a QR code or taps an NFC tag at the venue
  2. The App Clip experience launches with your branding and prompts them to start their tab
  3. They sign in with their phone number.
  4. Their Apple Pay or Google Pay account is pre-authorized to start the tab.
    1. A $0 tab is created in your POS with Guest Name - Vemos Pay
  5. They’re taken to their check screen, which prompts them to order at the bar and say they have a tab open under their name.
    1. New! Now guests will see a Tab Pin splash screen after opening their tab that they can show to the bartender for faster lookup.

What if a guest closes out of App Clips?

If a guest says they started a tab but can’t see it on there screen, they likely accidentally closed out of the app clip. It’s super easy to get back to it, just like any other app. Follow these steps here.

Option 2: Full App

For those who have the full app downloaded, scanning the QR Code or tapping the NFC will pull up the full app to the user’s home screen.

  1. Guest downloads and opens the Vemos Pay app.
  2. They sign in with their phone number.
  3. Select the venue where they are located.
  4. Tap “Open a Tab.”
  5. They’re taken to their check screen, which prompts them to order at the bar and say they have a tab open under their name
